NG Metall installed REEN CMS to gain more control over its own containers and where they are placed at any time, so that transport is optimised.

“It has sometimes been demanding, using a manual process to have an overview of the containers’ location. Containers have previously been moved without those who need to know having an overview of where they have been put. REEN CMS contributes with increased control for NG Metall. We use the technology primarily to have an overview of the location and the type and size of the container.”

“With this tracking technology, NG Metall can quickly find a container if someone makes a mistake and sets out one that should not have been used. If the company finds that they are missing a container in Fredrikstad, they can log into the REEN system and find out exactly where it is. If a container should have been in Fredrikstad, but is located in Oslo, they can contact Oslo directly and ask to have it returned.”

As many have noticed, the value of a container has increased considerably in the past year. This means that the value of having control over containers has become greater than ever. It is a common challenge for the industry.

“The system is also important for making transport more efficient, both for economic and of course environmental reasons. If a container is to be collected, you can log into the system and check if there are more containers nearby which should be collected on the same route. This helps us to reduce emissions, which is a clear goal for the entire group. This possibility to optimize the transport is probably as important as the control over the location of the containers.”

NG Metall has therefore experienced savings after the installation of REEN CMS.

“We have gained a better overview of the different containers and spend less time finding the right containers for possibly the right transport and other use, and in that way we save time and money.”
